Canned food: Gypsum is also used to preserve food such as canned vegetables, fruits and jellies. It is also used in a lot of other canned food items such as artificially sweetened creams, jellies and fruits which also contain gypsum to preserve its self-life and freshness. Fruits and vegetables tend to remain fresh due to the presence of gypsum.
Why is it used in canned foods?
it is used in canned foods because it is a preservative as it kills the bacteria from getting to the fruits/vegetables
Preserve frozen food: Another advantage of using gypsum includes its use to preserve frozen food. The overall content of the sodium can be kept low with the added extra of calcium sulphate.
Brewing process: It is also added to many beers during the process of brewing. This helps to improve the shelf life of the drink and adds a certain amount of crispness to the beer.
Baked food items: Gypsum is added to baked food products such as bread and cakes. It is also included in baking powder, cereals, enriched flour and yeast. Although calcium sulphate is used for a variety of purposes, it has certain ill-effects which are some of the most common side effects of calcium sulphate include swelling of the abdomen and gas. These symptoms occur rarely and are less severe. Infrequent symptoms of gypsum include intense abdominal pain, irregular bowel movement, nausea and so forth. Side effects of calcium sulphate are quite uncommon and rare although some cases were reported.
Why is it used in baked items?
It is used in baking powder because it helps the baked goods rise as it is an oxidiser
Gypsum is very commonly used when it comes to buildings.
Gypsum fiberboard is used for partitions and the lining of walls, ceilings, roofs and floors.
Gypsum plaster is used for walls and ceilings.
Gypsum blocks are used for partitions and Gypsum tiles for ceilings.
Not only is it a helpful compound, but it can be transferred for looks too.

Possible use in rocket fuel
Gypsum could be used in rocket fuel because it is an oxidizer when it comes into contact with
phosphorus (a highly flammable mineral). A rockets main mission is to exit the Earth's orbit and study the universe outside. One of the main things that helps rockets lift off is the fuel, but whether or not gypsum being used in rocket fuel will help is still unanswered.
Is it dangerous to use gypsum as rocket fuel?
All rocket fuel is considered dangerous because it has explosive properties, the positives of this outweigh the negatives because as long as it is handled safely it should be non explosive.
Will it work?
To find out whether or not it will work has to be tested thoroughly.
After all it is rocket science. For the main part of this is whether or not gypsum will create enough force to help make the rocket fuel more powerful.
